Working Days Calculator
Count the business days between two dates — every Saturday and Sunday is skipped automatically. Ideal for projects, deadlines and delivery estimates.
Why business days matter more than calendar days
When a bank quotes "three to five working days," or a contract sets a deadline a fortnight away, the calendar on the wall can be misleading. Weekends, and in many places public holidays, simply do not count toward that kind of timing, so a span that looks like ten days might really be only seven or eight days of actual work. This calculator does the counting properly. Give it a start and an end date, and it tallies only the weekdays in between, quietly skipping every Saturday and Sunday, and it also shows you how many weekend days were removed and the total number of calendar days, so you can see the whole picture at once.
Who relies on a working-day count
The result is genuinely useful across a surprising range of situations. Project managers use working-day counts to set realistic milestones and avoid promising delivery on a weekend. Finance and legal teams use them for payment terms, settlement windows and notice periods, where "business days" has a precise meaning. Online shops and couriers use them to estimate delivery, and anyone waiting on a refund, a visa decision, a posted document or an exam result can translate an official "working days" estimate into a real date on the calendar. Knowing that a process will finish on a Tuesday rather than vaguely "next week" makes it far easier to plan around, and far easier to chase if it runs late.
A note on public holidays
One thing is worth keeping in mind: this tool removes weekends, but it does not yet remove national public holidays, which differ from one country to another and even from one region to another. For a strict legal or financial deadline, check the relevant holiday calendar as well, because a public holiday in the middle of your span will push the true finish date back by a day. You can find each country's national days in the Countries section of this site, with full guides for Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the United Kingdom and the United States. To count every calendar day instead, including weekends, use the date-difference calculator, and to count down to a single deadline, use the countdown timer.
